Tomorrow, the country will commemorate National Mourning Day and the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation, in a dignified and respectful manner.
Bangabandhu On the fatal night of August 15, 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the majority of his family were brutally murdered by some angry army personnel, and this massacre is regarded as the worst chapter in the country’s history.
The administration has prepared elaborate programs to commemorate Father of the Nation’s 46th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day with due respect and solemnity while adhering to health rules.
The national flag will be flown half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous, educational, and private offices on the day as part of the program, according to an official handout.
Wreaths will be put at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhaka tomorrow at 6:30 a.m., and a munajat will be held there.
The President and Prime Minister will lay wreaths at Bangabandhu’s image in front of the Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi to honor the architect of freedom.
The Armed Forces will present a guard of honour, and prayers will be said.
Wreaths will also be placed at the city’s Banani Graveyard on the graves of Bangabandhu’s martyred family members and other August 15, 1975 martyrs. At 7:30 a.m., fateha and munajat will be served.
Around 10 a.m., wreaths will be placed at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj district. Fateha will be presented, and a particular doa will be performed in order to maintain social distance.
Special munajat will be offered in all mosques across the country after Zuhr prayers, and special prayers will be held at all temples, churches, pagodas, and other places of worship at a convenient time to commemorate National Mourning Day.
In honor of National Mourning Day, Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television will broadcast special programming.
Special supplements will be published in national newspapers and periodicals to commemorate the occasion.
Bangladeshi embassies around the world will also fly the national flag half-mast and have discussions to commemorate the day.
