Shakib Al Hasan, premier of Bangladesh, re-established his top place in the ICC T20I all-rounder classification. He was also chosen ICC player of the month for Juli after Bangladesh took the first bilateral triumph against Australia in a series of formats away to Zimbabwe last month.
Shakib’s spectacular performance in the Zimbabwe series last month gave him the player of the week award, while he was rewarded for the first time since October 2017 for his achievements at the Australia series this month.
As Shakib reacted to the Player of the Month Award, in the press release ICC quoted: “It is extremely humiliating that ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2021 should be elected. There were a lot of excellent performances throughout the month, which is why I find it special.
„When I contribute to victories, I am really pleased and satisfied to have helped in the successes of Bangladesh in the recent several weeks.”
Meanwhile, left-arm ash paceman Mustafizur Rahman, who was key to winning Australia with the 4-1 Tigers, won 20 positions and reached to the top 10 ranks in the bowling. Now he’s 10th in the 619-point rankings, while among others Mohammad Saifuddin (26-3) and Nasum Ahmed (103-66th) have progressed.
