Covid-19 vaccine: 10 lakh Sinopharm doses reach the airport of Dhaka

The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airports today at 12:35am were given ten lakh Chinese Sinopharm vaccine doses.

The vaccination was taken on by a flight from Bangladesh Biman.

The doses of Sinopharm vaccine were obtained in 1,5 crore in Bangladesh and should be delivered within 3 months.

With eleven lakh doses of Sinopharm vaccine donated by the Chinesse government, immunization has already been restarted in all district hospitals and 40 centers across the city.

To far, less than 3% of the population has been immunized. The camp of his immunization, which began on February 7, tripped as a result of the Serum Institute of India suspended its vaccine supply due to an increase in cases and deaths.

The agreement between Bangladesh and Serum that the latter would ship in installments between January and June three shots of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine for Bangladesh.

Serum sent the initial shipment in January with 50 lakh doses, but the following month shipped only 20 lakh. Since then there has been no shipment. Furthermore, India has given Bangladesh 3.3 million doses.

Bangladesh suspended the first dosage of the vaccination on 26 April, in the middle of a rapidly decreasing stock of vaccines. Nine days later, the vaccine registration process was suspended.
